For January & February 2012 "Rufus the Master" "Beach Master" "Two Good Hogs" "Plain Tickled" "Painter's Curiosity - Detail" Here is a new addition to "Barry Barnett Florida Wild Series," just for Ya'. This detail is from "Who Da' Boss," as shown further down "What's New," and an addition to "Barry's Painter's Series." "Another series?" Ya' ask. Yep! This offering was created from Barry's direct study of our Florida panther. At times here in Florida's wild places Ya' just have to wonder about what sparks a Painter's Curiosity. Hopefully, it ain't ... "Blue on Blue" ... Image on hold ... This is another in Barry Barnett's bluewater series featuring sailfish, marlin and shark. Riding the Razor/Beyond Barry's Reef Find the right split in the reef and wait. And wait you will. Hold until that single great swell that has traveled from as far away as the Azores reaches the shoals and hits with the strength of the furies. Find that right moment, then ride that wave right down the middle of that jagged reef. Slice your way through Barry's Reef and swear you will never tell another soul you road the Razor. "Pure Pride"/American Bald Eagle For those who collect American Bald Eagle prints here is one more addition of American pride. "Uncle Ben"/Florida Black Bear/Buck's Trail There's a VERY BIG Florida black bear who stands watch over the comings and goings all up and down Buck's Trail. His name is, "Uncle Ben." This huge black bear is seven feet tall. From time to time he stands up against the bell pole where Buck's Trail begins. There he puts his back against that ragged old pole with the iron bell on top and scratches his worries away. We have the pictures to prove it. In this original "Uncle Ben," rises up on his back legs looking over the top the switch grass within, "The Barry Barnett Collection," . "Feeling the Breeze"/Florida White-Tail Deer, Lostin, Florida This new addition to Barry's Florida Wild series features two Florida white-tail deer at the water's edge. Imagine for a moment what it must be like on a hot summer's morn just to enjoy a cool drink of water and take in a breath of fresh air? Feeling the breeze sounds mighty good with another hot day coming on. "Morning Call" Well Osceola turkey folks? Here is another one for you. This tom is wasting no time looking for the ladies along Haw Creek in Flagler County. Best he keep an eye open at the edge of deep and dark boggy. Some say old Rufus loves Osceola turkey more than hog. "Rufus," you ask? He is just the biggest, most meanest gator the good folk of Haw Creek has ever seen. Thank goodness he sleeps in tell the sun shines high above the sheltering bald cypress above. Leaves time for that Osceola's last morning call. "For the Love of a Ladies"/Osceola Turkey, Buck's Trail, Lostin, Florida "The Barry Barnett Collection," adds yet another Osceola turkey to Barry Barnett's Florida Wild series. Within the picture plan two male Osceola turkeys fight for the affections of the hens. Out on Buck's Trail, Osceola are plentiful thanks to sweet water from the Boggy Bottom Pond and the attentions of yet another male Osceola. Seems these two male Osceola turkey can not see those hens for all that dust and feathers fling all about. "Who Da' Boss" Here is a new Barry Barnett Florida Wild painting for Ya'. "Who Da' Boss," features a bull gator at the bottom of a cypress snag, half submerged among lily pads and NOT in the best of moods. Huddling, respectfully, above on this gnarled cypress is a Florida panther and a Florida black bear. At times here in Florida's wild places Ya' get a clear understanding about, "Who Da' Boss." Or do Ya'. "Memories of Saint Frances Landing"/Saint Johns River, Florida I can not remember what time of year it was when my Pa and I headed up the Saint Johns River. What I do remember were the otters that swam out from the lily pads on the east side of the Saint Johns. Those smart fellers rolled about the wide part of the river as if they knew it was gator sleepin'-time. As Pa swung the bow of the old flat bottom wooden fishing boat about we entered a place of calm waters that still has a presents beyond knowing. Saint Frances Landing is rich in history that reaches back to the pre-Columbian and as the last steamer turned north the hamlet, that whistle stop fell silent. When you enter that shallow creek look down into those black waters and when the sun is high over head you will see large mouth bass over golden shells that seem to just rise straight-up toward you here within, "The Barry Barnett Collection." "Half Paw the Elder"/Florida Black Bear/Buck's Trail The ability this Florida black bear to follow his nose right into trouble the out the other side is the story of "Half Paw," In this painting the elder "Half Paw," finds support on a cypress stump. So far there are 25 plus chapters in this rough draft with more chapters are being added. It is a troublesome thing for a Florida black bear to face life with a half paw. Kind of like this artist trying to write a tall tail down on paper for others to simply enjoy. Try it some time. You will find there are more twist and turns in the English language than in that sugar sand and muddy path we call, "Buck's Trail." Kindly click on the link below and review "Barry's Fishwrapper." http://www.barrybarnett.com/007-barrys-fishwrapper.html Go all the way down until you reach an entry courtesy of Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranch. There you will find kind words on an original titled, "Florida's Sheriff - A Boy's Buddy." Thank you Volusia County Sheriff's Office Charity Committee. These are a portion of yet another block of ten titles added to "Barry's Horse and Bull," series. The ten works are in support of the Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches. Now what did I leave out? Opps! Here are a few more. "Otter Ways," "By the Bay," "Bishop's Swamp ," "The Church on Big Bear Island," "The Big Catch," "Dolphins Joy," "Redfish Flats," "Tarpon Flats," And yes like these we are adding so many more. Now you may get an idea of how God has blessed us with "You" for the year 2012. |
